After receiving a generous donation from Bruno Clavier earlier this month the music school of Santiago de Chiquito has been enthusiastically buying much needed equipment for their students and teachers. Here are some of the things that have been purchased up to now:

Three new 1/2-bows, six 4/4 bows, two rehaired 4/4 bows and a cello bow.

Rosin, instrument polish, all purpose oil and 10 fine tuners for violin.

Four chargers for the keyboards in the music school (only one in the picture), 6 sets of violin strings (more coming).

General accessoires for the students and teachers: 2 scissors, tape, 5 erasers, 35 pencils and 8 pencil sharpeners.

Office supplies: 1 Stapler, 200 staples, a hole-machine and postits.

Paper and ink (1l.) for the printer. To print and copy sheet music, schedules, contact letters etc.

A brand new White board with white board markers.

250 g. Mongolian horse hair to change the bows. This is enough for approx 40 violin bows.

Ten packs of Rosin of the highest quality. In addition to this: We will be paying an instrument expert to repair 26 of our instruments that are currently out of use. 20 violins, 3 cellos, 2 violas and 1 double bass. We also used a part of the money to help the school in Plan 3000 and to help pay the electricity bill in the school (we have been out of power for more than a month). We also ordered pedagogical sheet music, music stands and bought pactical equipment such as a trash bin inside the school building. Amazing how far you can get with a fair sum of money here in Bolivia.
